Living Root Distilling company has announced the launch of its first gin, Sector, said to be adding to the exciting abundance of new Indian gins as the country’s spirits industry continues to expand.
The base gin – a London Dry – and citrus distillate have been distilled separately, then blended together. The citrus notes come from a mix of Valencia oranges and grapefruit from Turkey, as well as turmeric and orris.
Sector has been described as a well-balanced gin that works well as part of a Gin & Tonic, with founder Bharat Bhagnani adding that its taste is classic yet distinctive.
Bhagnani explained: “Sector isn’t here to sell a story about how this bottle will change your life. It is simply a bottle of great gin that wants to be part of your life, the voyage you’re currently on. Sector will be a gin that stays with you through all the madness and the mundane. This is our first offering under Living Root Distilling Company and we have ambitious plans to scale and create an exciting product line in the alco-bev space in time to come”
Sector gin marks the first creation from Living Root Distillery, based in Goa. The gin is available in the region priced at INR850, as well as Mumbai for the price of INR1650.
