Nose
Dried vine fruit – raisin and sultana – with candied peel and baking spice, making it rather reminiscent of a Christmas pudding or hot cross bun.

Palate
More fruit on the palate with a touch of floral rose. This gin has great complexity with a real cornucopia of flavours; the sweetness is neatly balanced by a dryer botanical character.

Finish
A little short, but clean and brings back a final flourish of juniper and coriander.

Comments
A rather festive and fun gin that I could see making a snazzy Last Word.

Score

8.7

Nose
Tamarind and a touch of balsamic vinegar. Some lemon peel, fresh chilli, and a whole spice note like mustard seed peek through.

Palate
Keeps the savouriness of tamarind with a little black pepper, and a fruity hint like sweet oranges.

Finish
Crisp, crunchy herbal notes of celery, fennel and green bell pepper are unleashed in the finish with a little green juniper.

Comments
This was certainly contemporary! The savouriness of its character makes me think it would work in a Red Snapper.

Score

7.8
