Nose
An intense nose with dark, bready, almost rye-like aromas that are also joined by floral citrus.

Palate
A plentiful supply of coriander that complements the gin’s grainy character. Slightly smoky savoury flavours, along with toasted juniper.

Finish
A relatively soft finish of lightly sweet toffee apple.

Comments
The depth, complexity, and intensity of this gin brings to mind one cocktail only: an equal-parts Negroni.

Score

7.8

Nose
A combination of herbal anise and sweet grain, a little like rye bread.

Palate
Creamy, grainy and smooth, like a slice of rye bread with a thick layer of butter. Juniper and coriander come through and complement with gentle citrus.

Finish
Drying notes of baking spice and continuing sweet grain. Warming, but pleasantly so.

Comments
The rye bread character in this gin surprised and delighted me, and could make it a good substitute in a whisky-based cocktail.

Score

8.4
