Elephant Gin has announced its largest on-trade activation to date by teaming with over 100 bars in over five countries, with the aim of raising much-needed money and awareness for elephant conservation in Africa. In 2021, the brand launched a Wildlife Warrior on-trade campaign. This campaign is returning until 12 October.
Each participating bar will create a bespoke Elephant Gin menu for the activation period. For each cocktail sold, a donation from each bar will be made to the Elephant Gin foundation who distribute funds to Big Life Foundation. The bar will donates the most is awarded a trip to Africa. All cocktails from participating bars will be shared on the brand’s social media accounts, with those voted best also winning an invitation to the Elephant Gin distillery near Hamburg, Germany.
As an additional incentive, there is an Elephant Gin scratch card for every cocktail ordered, with various prizes including personalised gin bottles and trips to the distillery.
The need for elephant conservation comes from the uncontrolled ivory poaching, leading to more than 35,000 elephants killed every year. Since 2013, the brand has raised over €1,000,000 by donating 15% of its bottle profits.
The brand’s co-founder Tessa Gerlach was deservedly inducted into the Gin Magazine Hall of Fame earlier this year.
