Fortnum & Mason has announced the launch of its new Amalthea Gin range, crafted in-house in Amalthea, the store’s new 50 litre copper still located inside its flagship Picadilly store.
The initial range comprises Amalthea Dry Gin and Amalthea Pink Gin, both available in different sizes.
The Dry Gin expression is distilled with British Apple Spirit sourced from Ellers Farm in Yorkshire, with Earl Grey tea and Monarch Marmalade, alongside traditional ingredients. The recipe was initially developed back in 2014.
The Pink Gin meanwhile is a rhubarb and rose pink gin with a hefty weight of juniper. Based on the Dry Gin’s recipe, the pink colouring comes naturally from cherry and rhubarb.
Amalthea Dry & Pink are both bottled at 43% ABV and have been recommended for gin cocktails such as a Negroni, Gin & Tonic, Dry Martini, French 75 and Bramble.
Oscar Dodd, spirits buyer at Fortnum & Mason said: “We are excited to introduce our new and exclusive Amalthea Gin range, handcrafted in-house at Fortnum & Mason’s new 3rd Floor distillery. With our rich heritage in food and drink innovation, we have selected the finest ingredients to inspire a gin range that is truly unique and that our customers can enjoy both in-store, across our bars and restaurants, and at home.”
Prices range from £15.50 to £40 dependant on bottle sizes. More information can be found at their website.
