Shakespeare Distillery has announced the launch of a new King’s Coronation Gin to coincide with the celebrations of His Majesty’s upcoming coronation on 6 May.
The team at the artisan spirit producer in Stratford-upon-Avon have created a new dry gin inspired from the Gin and Dubonnet beloved by the late Queen and Queen Mother.
The producers have described the palate as having notes of orange and currants as well as warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice and rosemary.
Commenting on the release, Shakespeare Distillery director Simon Picken said: “We’re delighted to launch our special Coronation Gin in time for gin fans to enjoy a tipple whilst celebrating the King’s Coronation. The Coronation festivities will span three whole days in May, featuring two epic processions, a religious service, and a star-studded concert at Windsor Castle. It is well known that the late Queen and Queen Mother were both fans of Dubonnet and Gin so I hope King Charles will approve of our new addition”.
The gin is available in three bottle options at an RRP of £34 for a 50cl bottle, £17.50 for a 20cl bottle and £6.50 for a 5cl bottle, to be purchased online at the distillery shop or from the store in Stratford-upon-Avon.
