Virgin Atlantic has selected luxury Salcombe gin Rosé Sainte Marie as part of its pouring service in Upper Class.
Produced by Salcombe Distilling, the gin was listed previously in Duty Free onboard Virgin Atlantic earlier in the year. The expression is also available in Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses in the UK and USA and is seeing rapid growth in the latter.
Passengers will also have the ability to pre-order duty free Rosé Sainte Marie together with Salcombe’s Start Point ahead of flights.
Bottled at 41.4%, the expression is said to be bright, elegant and fresh and is inspired by the Mediterranean coast. It pays homage to the Saint Marie lighthouse in Southern France – hence its name – which marks where 19th century Salcombe Fruit schooners loaded supplies of various fruits and herbs.
Salcombe’s co-founder Angus Lugsdin commented: “To be selected by Virgin Atlantic to form part of their pouring service in Upper Class reflects the outstanding quality of this gin. A huge amount of care was taken to create an elegant spirit which really stands out in the crowded ‘pink gin’ category, and we are delighted that this has been recognised in such a way.”
For those looking to buy the expression away from Virgin Atlantic, Rosé Sainte Marie is available at selected Waitrose stores at an RRP of £45 for a 70cl bottle.
