Aviation American Gin is celebrating the grand opening of its new distillery and visitor centre, located in Portland, Oregon.
The new facility features an intimate tasting room, a draft cocktail bar and gift shop. Guests are offered a behind the scenes look at the distillation process of the gin. As part of the interactive experience for visitors upon launch, co-owner Ryan Reynolds’ office became an escape room.
Distillery director Hollie Stephenson will be helming the facility, bringing her years of production and distilling experience to oversee operations.
Speaking on the launch, Reynolds said: “About three years ago, we set out to create a one-of-a-kind distillery and tasting experience to give people the opportunity to get a look at how we make the world’s greatest spirit – Aviation American Gin, that is. We’re thrilled to announce that the Aviation American Gin Distillery is officially open for business in Portland, Oregon and everyone (21 years and older) is welcome. If a grown-up theme park and a bartender fell in love and produced offspring, it would be this gin factory.”

Tours of the distillery will be held in groups of no more than 12 visitors, at a price of $28. Guided tastings are included. For those visiting the bar, there will be a rotation on the cocktails served. These include: Ryan’s Nitro Negroni, Fizzy Bee’s Knees, Grapefruit Collins, Aviation G&T, Saturn and Flora Dora.
Christina Choi, senior vice president at Diageo, said: “Portland, Oregon is such a vibrant city with a rich, unrivalled spirits & cocktail scene. We’re proud to be opening the Aviation American Gin Distillery in the company’s hometown. Knowing how beloved the brand is, we’re excited to invite consumers to explore, sip and learn about how our premium, uniquely American-style gin is distilled.”
Visits can be booked through the Aviation Gin website.
