David T. Smith

Nose
An array of leafy, herbal aromas, including spearmint, rocket, and sage, all backed up with the bready citrus of coriander seed.

Palate
The coriander carries over from the nose with sweetness on the palate, along with sweetmint menthol notes, before the dried daisy-like character of chamomile.

Finish
Peppery menthol notes of grains of paradise linger along with some oily orange peel.

Comments
A fresh gin with a real zing to it that would make it well-suited to a Basil Smash.

Score

7.8

Nose
Lemon meringue pie: creamy-zesty curd, slightly burnt pastry and meringue. Juniper, angelica and a pinch of ground coriander.

Palate
A continuing dessert-like sweetness with oily lemon peel, juniper, coriander and liquorice root, alongside the warmth of baking spices.

Finish
Dusky, woody spice and herbaceous juniper notes linger as it fades. Slightly drying.

Comments
A pleasantly classic London dry whose citrussy character would make a lovely Tom Collins.

Score

8.2
