Nose
Earthy, rooty liquorice notes with a little angelica and a hint of coastal salinity.

Palate
The liquorice gives the gin a thick and luxurious texture that coats the palate, distributing a wide range of juniper and pine flavours.

Finish
A final lift of sweetness is followed by green, leafy notes of menthol pepper.

Comments
A powerful gin with a bit of spikiness, but good mixing potential, especially with tonic.

Score

7.5

Nose
A plump, slightly maritime savouriness, which mellows to waxy cheese. Ground coriander seed and powdery angelica.

Palate
Smooth in texture, with notes of juniper, a little gingery heat, coriander and angelica, along with a touch of liquorice root sweetness.

Finish
Notes of aniseed, sappy pine and over-stewed green tea come through in the finish, which has a slightly tannic quality.

Comments
The nose and palate were a little disconnected, but it would nonetheless make a pleasant G&T.

Score

7.7
