It’s the UN’s World Bee Day this weekend (22 May), and Martin Miller’s Gin is marking the occasion by teaming up with bars across London to raise awareness of bee conservation. The gin brand has partnered with Bermondsey Street Bees and bars including Callooh Callay Chelsea, Little Bat, Wild Tavern and the Duchess of Dalston for an extended campaign: World Bee Week (16-23 May). Each venue will list a Bee’s Knees cocktail made with Martin Miller’s Summerful Gin. The cocktails will come served with a packet of thyme seeds and an information leaflet on bee conservation.
A simple combination of gin, honey and lemon juice, a Bee’s Knees is a great way to celebrate spring. You can do your bit for the bees by buying honey from a local, sustainable producer.
Martin Miller’s Bee’s Knees
- 50ml Martin Miller’s Summerful Gin
- 25ml fresh lemon juice
- 20ml Bermondsey Street Bees Exmoor Honey
Add the gin, lemon juice and honey to a shaker with some ice (if you don’t have a shaker, a jam jar will do) and shake until chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass.
