If you’ve been practising a bit of abstinence through January (from alcohol or otherwise) after the excesses of Christmas, we thought we’d give you a little treat in our cocktail of the week. The Don’t Interrupt from Puddingstone Distillery does what it says on the tin: it’s a beautifully indulgent drink which demands that you take a quiet moment to enjoy it. You could serve it in place of (or alongside) dessert at your next dinner party, and watch as contented silence descends over the table! This recipe uses Puddingstone Distillery’s limited-edition Pud Pud Cask Gin, but if you don’t have it to hand (or you finished your bottle over Christmas!), you could swap in another cask-aged gin.
Don’t Interrupt
Ingredients
- 35ml PUD PUD Cask Gin
- 15ml brown crème de cacao liqueur
- 5ml amaretto
- 5 dashes Bitter Union Aromatic Bitters
- Cocoa powder for garnish
Method
Wet half the rim of a chilled cocktail glass and dip in the cocoa powder. Add ice to a cocktail mixing glass along with the Pud Pud Cask Gin, brown crème de cacao, amaretto and Bitter Union Aromatic Bitters. Stir well until chilled and there is some ice dilution. Fine strain into a cocktail glass.
