Fans of Darnley’s Gin can now enjoy it in a more sustainable way, after the Scottish distiller introduced refillable pouches across its range.
The pouches – which are the same size as a standard bottle of Darnley’s Gin, 700ml – are available for its Original, Spiced and Navy Strength Gins. They can be decanted into Darnley’s bottles, and once emptied, can be returned to the company via Freepost.
Made from recycled plastics, the pouches weigh around 50 per cent less than a standard glass bottle and require less energy to produce. Introducing the pouches is one of a range of measures Darnley’s is implementing to reduce its environmental impact.
William Wemyss, founder of Darnley’s Gin, said: “Our sustainability plans for the brand are one of constant improvement and the launch of our gin pouches is part of this journey. We hope Darnley’s Gin fans will not only enjoy these gins, but also return the pouches to the full environmental benefits of this initiative can be realised.”
