Nose
Bright smoke aromas – clean and crisp – with hints of smoked meat and cheese and a touch of iodine.

Palate
A subtle but pleasant salinity to start that moves onto more dry, meaty smoke. These rich flavours are followed by a delicate botanical complexity.

Finish
Smoke notes linger, accompanied
by a resinous leafiness and light notes of charred wood.

Comments
A gin that’s full of complex smoke notes and underlying botanical character; it would make a smashing Red Snapper.

8.0

Nose
The smoke is very subtle, with lots of juicy lemon and hints of pine, coriander, mace and powdered ginger.

Palate
The still-subtle smoke ties the other flavours together for an overall impression of lightly barbequed, spice-glazed citrus fruits, with a firm juniper framework. Light, silky texture.

Finish
Fades with a wisp of smoke and some oily juniper and lemon peel.

Comments
The smoke was wonderfully subtle. I can see this make a cracking lemon-garnished Martini.

Score

8.4
