Nose
Cocoa powder with violet and liquorice, along with floral orris and a lingering earthiness.

Palate
A relatively light character, being quite elegant and dainty. Subtle, dry notes of juniper are accompanied by a slightly nutty saltiness.

Finish
A soft, dry finish with a gentle alcohol warmth and a pleasant touch of violet.

Comments
A clean gin that would make a rather sophisticated dry Martini, especially if it’s poured directly from the freezer; with a little more intensity, this would be great.

Score

7.5

Nose
Spicy and creamy with a hint of salinity – like salted butter. Behind that are juniper, coriander and delicate citrus.

Palate
Very delicate. All the notes from the nose are there – pine, citrus, spice, earthiness – but are muted.

Finish
Rather short, with a touch of creamy citrus, like lemon curd.

Comments
I’d hoped for more from the promising nose – perhaps a higher ABV would help? That said, it wouldn’t be a bad contender for a Martini.

Score

7.9
