Nose
A touch of foreshots followed
by aromas of cocoa leaf, mint, and
lemon verbena.

Palate
This gin has a good integration of alcohol and botanicals, although there is a gradually growing spirituous warmth. On the palate, notes of citrus leaf sit alongside a floral, earthy character.

Finish
A lingering oiliness with hints of liquorice root.

Comments
A straight-forward classic gin. I would have liked some additional complexity, but it should mix well.

7.2

Nose
A big hit of citrus and spice, with cardamom, coriander, aniseed, lime and mandarin. Earthy and dusky notes alongside fresh pine.

Palate
Beautiful texture. It unfolds slowly with more sweet orange, then drying spice with cardamom and turmeric notes, and finally piney juniper. There’s a grainy, savoury note as well.

Finish
Juniper, spices and lime cling on in the lengthy finish.

Comments
This is well balanced and intriguing in flavour. You could play up its citrus notes in a Gimlet.

Score

8.8
