When the colder months come around, it’s time to swap out long, cool summer drinks for shorter cocktails with a warming boozy hit. The Martinez is a great addition to your cocktail repertoire at this time of year, and is particularly well suited to gins with autumnal fruits and spices in them. This recipe uses the grape-based gin Floraison, from French gin maker G’Vine.
Grape Martinez
Ingredients
- 45ml G’Vine Floraison
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp water
- 10-15 red grapes (keep two grapes for garnish)
- ½ tsp sugar
- 30ml sweet vermouth
- Grapes and toothpick, to garnish
Method
In a blender, combine the grapes, water, gin, lemon juice, sugar and vermouth and blend until smooth. Pour into a shaker filled with ice and shake for about a minute. Strain into a small cocktail glass and garnish with a couple of grapes on a toothpick.
