Australian gin brand Brookie’s is set to launch its Byron Dry Gin in Waitrose stores around the UK.

The gin is made by Cape Byron Distillery, based in the hinterland of Byron Bay. It’s owned and run by the Brook family on their farm, where they have invested significant time and effort in regenerating the local rainforest over the past 30 years.

Of the 25 botanicals in Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin, 17 are native to the Byron Bay region including sunrise finger limes, aniseed myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, macadamia, local raspberries and river mint.

Cape Byron co-founder Eddie Brook said: “Sustainability, giving back to the community, and rainforest regeneration are at the heart of what we do at Cape Byron Distillery. We’re so passionate about the quality of our Byron Dry Gin which is made with incredible native ingredients that grow in our regenerated rainforest on farm.

“We are over the moon to be launching Brookie’s into Waitrose and introducing our Byron Dry Gin to their customer base.”

John Vine, spirits buyer at Waitrose, added: “Brookie’s has received international acclaim for its Dry Gin and as we see the super-premium gin category continue to grow year-on-year, there is no better time to welcome Brookie’s into Waitrose.”

Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin will be available through Waitrose in-store and online (RRP £39.95 for 70cl).
