Nose
Dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans with zesty orange oil.

Palate
A gentle sweetness to start, with delicate pine and cinnamon. The bitterness of coffee and the earthiness of quinine develop on the palate over time.

Finish
Citrus and a slight mineral bitterness, along with earthy notes of ginger.

Comments
A full-flavoured coffee spirit with just enough resinous pine to make it a great flavoured gin. I’d want to serve this up in an Old Fashioned or Alexander.

Score

8.0

Nose
Bitterness of roasted coffee beans and a sugary, syrupy vanilla-tinted sweetness here – did someone order a frappe with an extra shot?

Palate
Roasted and greener notes of coffee with hints of orange citrus and drying spice.

Finish
Short and drying, with dominant roasted, almost burnt, coffee notes.

Comments

This would bring a great twist to
an Espresso Martini, but I’m struggling to find any real gin character.

Score

7.2
