Whitley Neill may be well known for its vast rainbow of flavoured gins, but it has gone back to basics with its latest edition: the Connoisseur’s Cut. Going on sale in Waitrose this month, the gin has been distilled at the City of London Distillery and bottled at a higher ABV of 47%, which the brand says emphasises its juniper and citrus notes. One of the brand’s recommended serves for this top-notch tipple is a Ruby Martini, elevated with the addition of grapefruit. If you don’t have grapefruit bitters to hand, another citrus variety would suffice.
