Nose
Chocolate-covered cherries, black tea, and a neat combination of fennel and caraway make this almost sloe gin like.

Palate
Dry, woody cedar notes with a dash of spice that develops into broader, fruitier notes: cherry, again, but also plum. Overall, there’s an elegant, restrained sweetness.

Finish
Slightly astringent, but in a good way – that says that juniper is definitely present, along with tea-like tannins.

Comments
A complex, exciting gin that deftly walks the tightrope between sweet and dry.

Score

8.5

Nose
Big plump blackcurrants and raspberries with a smooth coating of milk chocolate. A citrusy, tannic note like rooibos tea and a hint of liquorice too.

Palate
The rooibos tea note comes first – it reminds me of a rhubarb and raspberry variety I tried once. A wave of slightly medicinal aniseed comes mid-palate and gives way to red fruit.

Finish
Slightly drying with tart lemon and red berry notes.

Comments
An exciting mix of flavours that may pair well with lemonade or citrus tonic.

Score

7.9
