Get a taste of Hampstead Heath with new London gin

The Heath gins range

A young gin-making couple are taking inspiration from their walks on London’s Hampstead Heath in their new range of spirits.

The Heath gins have been designed by Callum Sinclair and Mercedesz Bondi, who say they wanted to stay away from ‘novelty flavours’ and create good-quality, great-tasting gins.

Their range launches with three gins: Superior London Dry Gin, Raspberry and Rose Pink Gin, and a CBD London Dry Gin which they believe is the first of its kind to be distilled using this traditional technique.

Callum said: “We’re targeting the discerning gin drinker who values quality over quantity, and taste above cost… those who ‘drink less but drink better’ encapsulates our approach.”

Mercedesz Bondi added: “We bring what we believe to be a premium handcrafted gin of superior smoothness.”

A range of botanicals found on and around Hampstead Heath have been included in the gin, such as dandelion, rose, hawthorn berries, burdock, rowan and sorrel. The CBD gin also includes Highgate honey.

As well as using ingredients from the heath, Callum and Mercedesz are giving back to it. They have committed to donate a proportion of their profits to Heath Hands, a charity that works to conserve the area.

The Heath Superior London Dry Gin and Raspberry and Rose Pink Gin are both 42% ABV and are available in 70cl bottles priced at £38 and £36 respectively. Meanwhile, the CBD London Dry Gin is 44% and retails at £45 for a 70cl bottle. You can also buy 5cl tasting bottles of each gin at theheathdistillery.com.
