Nose
A chocolately nose with savoury spice, hints of coffee and resinous wood.

Palate
More luscious chocolate on the palate, which transitions into a maltiness and then citrus notes of coriander. This is followed by a broader citrus peel character.

Finish
Lasting malt notes and a black pepper spiciness that sits on the tip of the tongue throughout.

Comments
A hearty gin with a warm nature. I think this would be really well-suited to a Gin Old Fashioned.

Score

8.2

Nose
Bold tamarind and hints of a Cajun spice rub, with paprika, cayenne pepper and light muscovado sugar. Juniper and lemon peel come through later.

Palate
The spice notes are still front and centre, getting more savoury through the palate. Juniper and more citrus notes help to keep it grounded.

Finish
A little warmth before it fades out with sweet citrus and a faint touch of aniseed.

Comments
That intriguing nose that help up fairly well in the palate. It needs a mix that would match up to its spiciness.

Score

8.5
