Six O’clock Gin launches its spirits in US

British craft gin brand 6 O’clock Gin is hoping to make a splash across the Atlantic after launching in the US.

The Bristol producer’s spirits will initially be available in select cities in Florida and Georgia, with other states to follow soon.

It comes two years after a group of investors and self-confessed gin lovers from Tampa, Florida visited the maker of 6 O’clock Gin, Bramley & Gage, and decided to bring its spirits across the pond.

These investors – now principals in 6 O’clock Gin’s Tampa-based US subsidiary – include veteran banking executive Susie Martinez, her son Daniel, and Robert Rothman, CEO of Black Diamond Capital and an owner of Washington, D.C.’s National Football League team.

Daniel Martinez said: “We’d literally traveled the world in search of exciting new gins, and when we tasted these, we knew we had to share them with fellow Americans.”

6 O’clock Gin’s head distiller Michael Kain, who runs the business with sister Felicity, said: “After three decades of crafting our unique gins for the best bars and retailers in the UK, now’s the time our American cousins enjoy them, too.”

Among 6 O’clock’s products now available in the US are its flagship London Dry, Brunel, Damson and Sloe gins.

The family-owned craft gin brand, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, maintains its long-held family tradition of enjoying a gin and tonic cocktail at six o’clock.
