Manchester Gin has launched a limited-edition label for its FAC51 The Haçienda expression, inspired by the interior designers of the iconic music venue.
Created in collaboration with Mancunian musician Peter Hook, the gin blends locally foraged dandelion and burdock with fresh lemon zest and lime peel as a nod to the acid house movement kickstarted by Manchester’s music scene.
The new packaging – designed by Lois Hinx and Pete Gaskell – transports drinkers back to the Haçienda’s dance floor, depicting the nighclub’s interiors and creating a 3D illusion visible through the transparent bottle.
Adorned with neon lights and the industrial pillars of the Factory Records venue and sporting yellow and black warning stripes, this special makeover of Manchester Gin’s hexagon-embossed, recycled glass bottle could be a great gift for the gin-loving acid house fan in your life.
To celebrate both the history of the Haçienda and the launch of the limited-edition bottle, Manchester Gin and Peter Hook are giving Mancunians the chance to win tickets for Haçienda Classical 2021 along with some exclusive merchandise. You can enter the draw on Manchester Gin’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Manchester Gin co-founder and master distiller, Seb Heeley, said: “This collaboration is a fantastic celebration of Mancunian culture which we’re so proud of. Lois and Pete have created a design which takes you back to the 1980s and into the nightclub with one look and we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. The beautiful label is so eye-catching and will look just as good on any budding home-bartender’s shelf as it tastes.
“After a tough year, we’re so happy to release this limited-edition batch in time for Christmas so that Mancunians, gin lovers and music fans across the country can look back on their fun memories of our much-loved city over the festive period. We can’t wait to see who wins the Haçienda Classical tickets and merchandise and hope it gives them a little something to look forward to in 2021.”
FAC51 The Haçienda’s limited-edition batch is shipping from 11 December and is available to pre-order from the Manchester Gin website.
