Nose
Floral – reminiscent of a spring garden – with aromas of violets, geraniums, and a stalky leafiness.

Palate
The palate brings a lot more spice: ginger, cassia, cinnamon, and even a spot of cardamom. This makes way for more oily citrus peel and a leafy freshness; the gin almost has a crunch to it.

Finish
Celery with salt and black pepper; a little tingle of warmth but no burn.

Comments
A refreshing gin that would be at home with plenty of ice and your mixer of choice.

Score

8.6

Nose
Spicy, scorched orange peel, followed by a touch of nutmeg, a creamy lemon-curd note and more fragrant orange blossom.

Palate
The orange notes subside a little to reveal more lemon citrus and piney, slightly waxy juniper.

Finish
The fragrant orange blossom returns. It’s drying and pleasantly prickly.

Comments
I’m tempted to put this with an orange-flavoured tonic water or a light ginger ale to see what happens to that orange character.

Score

8.4
