Nose
Plump, jammy fruit notes to start, then the distinctive, tart, slightly sour aroma of gooseberry that’s neatly balanced by the floral elegance of elderflower and elderberry.

Palate
A balanced sweetness that follows on nicely from the jammy nose. The confectionery start moves to a dry, juniper-forward second act.

Finish
A little creamy vanilla and earthy angelica towards the end that helps to give balance to the gin.

Comments
This really is a gin of two halves. I think it would make an excellent Gimlet.

8.9

Nose
Elderflower cordial, thick, sweet and syrupy. Tart gooseberries with hints of white grape.

Palate
Another hit of that sweet elderflower washes over tart flavours of gooseberry, under-ripe plum and green apple. Juniper and a sweet spiciness come through here too.

Finish
Quite dry, with those elderflower and sweet spice notes carrying on.

Comments
Nicely balanced for a flavoured gin. I’d go for a serve with elderflower tonic or even lemonade to amplify those sweet fruit notes.

Score

8.4
