Nose
Clean and crisp and very much in the traditional style. A restrained nose with some earthy pine.

Palate
A balanced, but restrained palate; certainly evocative of the buttoned-up, bowler-hatted English businessman: pleasant, soft citrus and a healthy dose of juniper.

Finish
Spicy citrus with floral earthiness and menthol pepper.

Comments
A gin that ticks all of the boxes for a classic-style gin, but I’d just like more of those flavours. I fear the lack of intensity may limit its use in mixed drinks.

Score

7.1

Nose
Classic juniper forward nose with strong herbal aromas and plenty of citrus fruit along with melon and summer berries.

Palate
Sweet and succulent berry and citrus fruits contrast with warm peppery spices and a dry earthiness.

Finish
Long and dry, vibrant and citrus with an earthy and slightly herbal edge.

Comments
Pour over ice in a bowl glass, add a Mediterranean or classic Indian tonic, garnish with a sprig of rosemary or mint and a few berries or pink peppercorns.

Score

8.7
