Nose
The beautiful, crisp, sparkle of green juniper, then tart, plump, sour cherries and a nuttiness.

Palate
Sour cherries, red and black, accompanied by stone-fruits such as plum and sloe berries. Dry fruit is replaced with juniper, angelica and spice.

Finish
Lingering, dry cherries and resinous pine with black pepper.

Comments
Superb – a breath of fresh air in contrast to more syrupy fruit gins. Botanicals drive through and the minimal sweetness makes it great for sophisticated mixed drinks.

Score

9.1

Nose
Complex. Juniper comes through followed by ripe fruits – berries, cherries, plums – plus a little vanilla and pink peppercorn.

Palate
Big and spicy with a real kick. Bitter sweet cherry adds to the bright juicy citrus flavours that shine through a pine-laden earthiness providing balance and character.

Finish
Citrus with a dash of warm spice. Long and dry.

Comments
A twist on a traditional style creating a distinctive flavour that will work well in a gin and tonic or classic cocktail. Garnish with a cherry.

Score

8.8
