Nose
Warm cereal notes, cosy
and welcoming.

Palate
Marmalade orange notes
along with toasted bread and the dark, herbal flavours of rye and fennel.

Finish
Deep, dark treacle notes with hints of menthol black pepper that linger on and on with a spicy heat.

Comments
An excellent nose with a dark bitterness on the palate that unfortunately throws the balance off slightly; otherwise, good.

Score

6.9

Nose
Packed with aromas of malted cereal, freshly baked bread, vanilla and warm mixed spices.

Palate
Hugely rich and spicy. Complex and well rounded, with dried fruits, mixed nuts, vanilla and sticky ginger cake.

Finish
Smooth with citrus fruits and warm ginger and baking spices, which linger.

Comments
Good for sipping but also has the weight and character to make excellent cocktails, such as a Martinez or Old Fashioned. Garnish with ginger or a spiral of orange peel.

Score

9.0
