Nose
Green, slightly vegetal notes on the nose: sage and freshly cut grass, accompanied by the earthy, floral notes of angelica.

Palate
Modest intensity of flavour: lots of piney earthiness, raspberry and blackberry. Violet petals and orris root develop, along with sweet liquorice and a green, grassy mastika-like note.

Finish
A clean, earthy finish with notes of cocoa powder and resinous pepper.

Comments
Elegant, clean and dry. It would make a good choice for a Martini.

Score

7.9

Nose
This is making me want to hike through a forest – it’s like spring in a glass with soft dry pine, juniper and some wafts of blossom.

Palate
There’s a lot more zest here than I was expecting from the nose; it’s lemony. Then there’s a herbal tea, like liquorice and peppermint but a little less in-you-face.

Finish
The flavours soften out to a simple long finish of juniper and aniseed.

Comments
I’d be intrigued to see what happens when sipping this over a little ice.

Score

7.7
