A distillery in the Scottish islands is inviting fans to spice up their Friday night in lockdown with an online gin tasting.
Tobermory Gin will be sharing a glimpse of its home on the Isle of Mull during the event, taking place on 3 April, which will also see the producer’s master distiller and master blender compere a tasting of its spirit.
Viewers of the Facebook tasting – which was set to be part of last weekend’s Gin Live event, hosted by Whisky Magazine – will be given a tasting lesson, an overview of the Tobermory Gin distillery’s history, the production processes behind the spirit and its colourful packaging, inspired by Mull’s vibrant harbour and diverse landscape.
Any bottles purchased via Tobermory’s website using the GIN10 code will be eligible for a 10 per cent discount until Sunday, while Distell, which owns the brand, will continue donating a further 10 per cent to The BEN, a charity which supports hospitality workers in Scotland.
To participate in the online tasting or to submit a question in advance, go to Tobermory Gin’s Facebook page. Questions shared before 8.30pm on Friday will automatically be entered into a draw to win a bottle of Tobermory Gin and an accompanying set of glasses.
