New gin brand Sámara is bringing the flavours of Costa Rica to the UK.
Named after a popular coastal hamlet on the Central American country, Sámara Gin has packed its botanical mix with flowers and ingredients which flourish in the tropical paradise.
Produced at the Yorkshire Dales Distillery using a vapour infusion technique, the London dry gin has a grain base spirit and features botanicals including hibiscus, orange peel, cardamom, elderflower and honey.
The Samara brand was created by husband-and-wife team Eduardo Montero and Ana Cammarano, who moved to the UK from Costa Rica nearly three years ago.
Eduardo said: “We wanted to create a gin that evokes the smells, nature, adventure and beauty of our beloved homeland. It is a country full of natural beauty and wildlife, flora and fauna, as anyone who has been will know. We want to transport people there with our gin.”
The team at Sámara Gin suggests pairing its 40% ABV spirit with a Mediterranean tonic and a mint, strawberry or thyme garnish, adding that it would also work well in a variety of cocktails, such as a French 75.
Sámara Gin is on sale at www.samaragin.co.uk and on Amazon.
