Amazon goes into gins with the launch of Tovess

Online-retail behemoth Amazon has unveiled Tovess, its first premium spirits brand, available exclusively on www.amazon.co.uk/Tovess.

Amazon claims that the Tovess brand is: “Dedicated to curating expertly distilled spirits from around the world.” The brand launched with Tovess Single Batch Crafted Dry Gin, a premium dry gin crafted in a single batch distillation.

The gin has been created using a blend of botanical ingredients, infused with individually distilled lime and grapefruit peels, which the producer claims gives it fruity notes and a smooth Mediterranean taste. Tovess Single Batch Crafted Dry Gin is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.

The gin itself comes from a distillery outside of Birmingham, UK, using some of the oldest copper-pot stills in the country.

The brand’s recommended serve is 50ml of Tovess gin with 100ml of tonic. Garnish with a slice of either grapefruit, cucumber of lime.

The gin has been bottled at 41.5% ABV and a 70cl bottle is priced at £24.99. It is exclusive to Amazon. It is also ‘Prime-eligible’, meaning that those desperate to get their hands on it can benefit from one-day delivery.

The producer says that more products will be added over the course of time.
