Lakes Distillery unveils new gin

The Lakes Distillery has released its flagship Lakes Gin, produced in a classic London Dry style.

Whiskymaker at the Lakes Distillery, Dhavall Gandhi, created the new gin using a limited array of botanicals, said to parallel those used by perfumers and chefs to create perfect aromas and taste experiences.

This blend of botanicals is infused in British wheat spirit and pure water drawn from The Lake District National Park. Steeping the botanicals overnight, much in the way of loose-leaf tea, they interact with the warm spirit to encourage a slow release of the essential oils. Gandhi then runs the copper pot still slowly and for a long duration, in order to extract maximum flavour.

The end result is a classic English-style gin.

Gandhi says: “A showcase of our discerning sourcing and exacting process of elimination, we’re incredibly excited to release our classic Lakes Gin with a new and distinctive flavour.

Using only the very best ingredients to ensure consistency and year-round freshness, juniper, coriander and Angelica provide our gin’s flavour cornerstones. Orris root, cassia bark and liquorice offer complementary flavours, with orange and lemon peel enhancing our gin’s citrus notes.

At 46% ABV, the Lakes Gin can be bought from http://www.lakesdistillery.com for an RRP of £33.
