Warner’s has reflected on the success of the ‘soft’ launch of its Raspberry Gin into bars and retailers and decided to introduce it across the UK via Tesco, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.
Inspired by its birthplace on Falls Farm, the new expression has been handcrafted to embody the bounty of the British countryside. A third of every bottle contains pure raspberry and blackberry juice, and elderflowers hand-picked from the farm’s hedgerows – transporting drinkers to the rolling fields of the Northamptonshire countryside.
The naturally sweet, yet tart notes of fruit, combined with Warner’s London Dry Gin base, produces a ruby pink gin, reminiscent of home-cooked jam. The brand recommends pairing with Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic, so that the floral elderflower and berry coulis flavours come to life, best completed with a garnish of blackberries and a fresh sprig of mint.
As part of the new product launch, a charity partnership has been forged with the People’s Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) with Warner’s donating 25p per bottle sold to support hedgerow habitats in Britain that help make this liquid.
Support from Warner’s Raspberry Gin will help to provide protection to the countryside and the wildlife living within it. PTES and Warner’s will work together to improve hedgerows in the local area, as well as nationwide, through active conservation, with the aim of safeguarding up to 130 conservation priority species that rely on hedgerows for food and shelter.
Warner’s Founder Tom Warner is excited about the latest addition to the Warner’s family: “We’ve had an epic response to our new Raspberry Gin and we have a feeling that it’s going to be as popular as the gin that started it all for us: Rhubarb. The pink in our gins are as nature intended – we don’t add anything artificial – you can taste the beautiful balance of real fruit and sweetness in every drop.
“We started growing raspberries alongside our five acres of botanicals this year at the farm and are right in the middle of a bumper harvest. We’re always striving to be self-sufficient with our ingredients – from planting elderflower trees to extending our apiary – so that we both aid biodiversity and keep up with demand. With epic farm grown ingredients and real graft and passion, we have always strived to create extraordinary liquids that bring people together – being united in spirit with your loved ones: that’s what it’s all about.”
Warner’s Raspberry Gin is the eighth core product from the gin farmers at the family-owned distillery. Every bottle of Warner’s craft gin is distilled in small batches in a 200-year-old barn on Falls Farm in Northamptonshire, using water drawn from its own spring, then hand-labelled and wax-dipped.
Warner’s Raspberry Gin, RRP £36.00 and 40% ABV comes in 70cl bottles and is available from October in over 3,000 stockists nationwide, including Tesco, Waitrose, M&S and online at www.warnersdistillery.com. It is also available across Greene King, London Cocktail Club and Youngs outlets.
