David T. Smith

Nose
Plump, fruity gooseberry aromas with a sprinkle of lemon citrus.

Palate
Floral notes to start, including violet and rose, followed by mellow, jammy gooseberry flavours.

Finish
Some alcohol and a lingering tingle of tart gooseberry.

Comments
Solid flavours of gooseberry are balanced with other botanical notes. I think this would work well in a Gin Fizz.

Score

7.4

Sam Coyne

Nose
Some classic gin notes; juniper and coriander. However, the star is the fruit flavours of grapefruit, rhubarb and gooseberry.

Palate
More tart gooseberries upfront, there’s a solid, more classical background with juniper, coriander and eventually lemon peels. Elderflower note. Fruit compliments the classic rather than overpowering.

Finish
Lingering and a little tart.

Comments
Some good balance and would work nicely with a tonic that lightens the floral notes.

Score

7.8
