Nose
Soft grain mixed with warm, mellow orange marmalade, with echoes of dark chocolate and rye bread.

Palate
Soft, but oily in texture; clean with character. Quietly builds to rye toast, mint, and fennel, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finish
Piney, resinous flavours with a dash of black pepper combined with lingering citrus zest.

Comments
This shows how a good Genever has a mix of base spirit and botanical flavours; truly the best of both worlds in this instance – I wish there was more!

Score

9.1

Nose
Wonderfully floral and forward. Fresh. White wine and melon fruit salads and orange segments. I’m very excited.

Palate
Starts with a sweet syrupy note that develops a little green spice. A lovely, creamy maltiness and touch of menthol.

Finish
Spice – more on the green-side – and lasts with you.

Comments
Easy drinking genever – you’d think that a spirit like this could get more people behind the category if they give it a go. More than enough about it to enjoy neat.
