Triple Juniper Gin
Never Never Distilling Co.
Price per bottle: ££
Sam Coyne – 8.8
Nose: This one’s suitably juniper heavy. Brings both freshness with it through pine needles, while also offering some of the earthier note too.
Palate: Citrus led. Candied peels. More of the earthy juniper note from the nose, which adds balance to the early freshness. All-spice, cinnamon and cloves come to the party. Cream. Pepper.
Finish: Long lasting and leaves you no doubt that you’ve drunk a gin.
Comments: Clear, crisp and surely a classic? This is your new favourite with tonic, served seriously cold.
Phoebe Calver – 8.5
Nose: Pine again, but not quite as pungent as the previous, taking more of a subtle approach. It moves into zesty lemon with a little spicy prickle cutting through at the end there.
Taste: The spice was pepper, which again is combatted by the citrus which covers the mouth. Juniper is there with a grassy, rich and creamy hit that wraps up the piney nose we had earlier.
Finish: The finish is pretty long here and takes you from fresh to earthy in a flash.
Comments: Spring in a glass.
