Sam Coyne – 7.9

Nose: Gets the crowd on their feet instantly. Floral, with cherry blossom, elderflower and red berries. A floral paradise.

Palate: Juniper makes its presence felt early on and balances with the sweeter elements from the nose. Develops citrus, although this is underpinned by sweeness. Green tea.

Finish: Green tea, balanced with citrus.

Comments: The nose is special, but not all of the notes come through. Makes a cracking G&T. I’d love to give it a go with an elderflower tonic.

Phoebe Calver – 7.6

Nose: Strongly juniper based, I’m not entirely sure what to expect next, but I think that it’s going to be a floral and fruity.

Taste: Intensity hits on the palate, the botanical hit is definitely still there, there’s kick to it hitting the back of my throat, followed by a mixture of fresh citrus and light spice.

Finish: Smooth spice hit remains, but above all incredibly smooth.

Comments: A really vibrant gin, perhaps calmed a little with the addition of  some tonic.
