David T Smith – 8.2
Nose: Soft, creamy juniper with some bready barley aromas alongside vanilla pod and coriander.
Taste: Smooth and slightly oily in texture, with spicy coriander notes on the palate that are followed by crisp, piney juniper.
Finish: A clean, relatively short finish with a little maltiness.
Comments: This is a solid gin that provides the key flavours of juniper and coriander. A good choice for Gin & Tonics served with lemon and lime.
Felicity Murray – 7.2
Nose: Shy on the nose but clean and delicate with a slight greenness and hints of juniper and sweet earthy aromas.
Palate: A full viscous mouthfeel with an explosion of warm peppery spice, such as clove and ginger, along with curried green and root vegetables.
Finish: Dryer towards the end, with a lingering ginger, melon apple and pears.
Comments: Not the most complex. Try in a long drink with an aromatic tonic water or ginger ale garnished with a cinnamon stick.
