David T Smith – 9.3
Nose: A bright symphony of citrus: aromas of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this complex and enthralling.
Taste: Clean and crisp with a good dose of juniper, coriander and then an array of citrus fruit; oily and zesty, these notes really give the spirit a lift.
Finish: A gentle sweetness is combined with a lingering zesty fruitiness and a fresh leafiness.
Comments: A stunning gin. Refreshing, sippable, yet complex. Delightful when mixed with sparkling water.
Felicity Murray – 8.7
Nose: Robust with a woody, earthy character at first, that opens up with more leafy, green and herbaceous elements, a touch of stone fruits and citrus.
Palate: Slightly oily with the citrus element cutting through, then mixed vegetables, nuts and warm spices.
Finish: Long and buttery with vanilla and mixed nuts and a tiny trace of blackberry and apple crumble.
Comments: A full-bodied gin with a fairly complex structure that will lend itself to many classic gin cocktails. Try in a Negroni garnished with a slice of orange.
