Nose
Bright and crisp aromas of cider apples, along with a little red wine.

Palate
A powerful, aggressive, gin with hints of oxidised wine, reminiscent of dry vermouth. A definite spiciness on the middle, accompanied by the sweetness of cassia and nutmeg.

Finish
A little warmth from the spirit is joined by cracked black and menthol peppers and a tingling dry finish.

Comments
A bold gin that is evidently 46.0% ABV. Would go well with red vermouth, or maybe over ice with some ginger ale…

Score

7.5

Nose
Big, rounded and sweet. Packs a punch with aromas of honey and vanilla, with a pinch of back pepper and mixed spice.

Palate
A huge sweet mouthful of toasted bread, vanilla and brown sugar, with just a background hint of the flavours you’d expect from a traditional gin.

Finish
Pleasant, dry with a toast, butter and marmalade laden sweetness.

Comments
A good one for sipping over ice, but try it with soda or tonic water garnished with a twist of orange peel.

Score

7.7
