Nose
Earthy and rooty, with a flint-like minerality and a flash of floral. Reminds me of fresh rainfall.

Palate
Powerful and zesty orange, along with the earthy sweetness of liquorice. Juniper adds an oily, resinous quality.

Finish
A mix of pepper and zesty citrus, more bitter than the sweet orange of the palate – reminiscent of grapefruit.

Comments
The power makes it attractive, as does its thick mouthfeel. Potential to be mixed with ginger ale in a Gin Buck.

Score

7.7

Nose
Damp pine forests with pepper, cloves and anise. Subtle herbal notes and delicate aromas of grapefruit and stewed gooseberries emerge.

Palate
Strong, sharp and peppery with mouth-tingling citrus fruits, bitter almond and mixed spices.

Finish
Dry earthiness with sweet fruits.

Comments
The noticeable high ABV overpowers some of the more subtle aromas and flavours of the botanicals, but it will hold its own with any number of mixers and make a great long drink.

Score

7.5
