Nose
Fragrant, fruity notes – mostly stone fruit such as plum and sloe, with a hint of peach and raspberry, too. Wrapped up by an almond nuttiness.

Palate
Sweet peach combined with the floral tannins of a freshly-brewed pot of English breakfast tea. More fruit follows, like strawberry and greengage. There’s a balanced sweetness and not too cloying.

Finish
Nutty almond with cherry and marzipan. Bakewell tart.

Comments
Sippable with complex fruit and a sweet nuttiness. Lovely over ice.

Score

7.8

Nose
A fruity mix of ripe plums, fresh juicy lemons and zesty orange peel, with a touch of mint, almonds and vanilla.

Palate
Velvety smooth, plumy and slightly herbal. Very juicy with a fruity tartness that cuts through and balances the sweetness nicely.

Finish
Stone fruit flavours linger on a syrupy coating.

Comments
Delicious with a twist of orange peel, but for parties it would delight served over ice topped with Prosecco and a sprig of rosemary – a modern twist on the classic Kir Royale cocktail.

Score

8.0
