Nose
Soft baking spice – cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, along with a little saffron. Somewhat reminiscent of Simnel and spiced fruit cake.

Palate
A mellow spirit with plenty of spice, backed up with warm orange. The juniper is restrained, but comes through with a little pine towards the end.

Finish
Bitter orange and black pepper that lingers on and on and on.

Comments
A botanically punchy gin that will stand up well to heavy mixing; it’d make a good Negroni.

Score

7.5

Nose
Delicate balance of juniper with a little lavender, a touch of coriander seed and bountiful apples, pears and oranges.

Palate
A full and juicy mouthfeel that’s smooth and rounded with juniper, citrus and flowers, before spicy and leafy notes emerging. Balanced and satisfying.

Finish
Long and lingering, zesty and fresh, with citrus and a hint of black pepper.

Comments
Typical London Dry style that will go well in a traditional dry martini or G&T in a bowl glass loaded with ice.

Score

8.7
