David T. Smith

Nose
Bright, resinous pine; deep and luscious, like the thick canopy of an Alpine forest. Subtle lifts of lemon peel.

Palate
Oily mouthfeel with the spicy citrus of coriander upfront and a good dose of linalool. Lemon crème brûlée, before dry, woody juniper.

Finish
Medium length with black pepper and freshly-split cedar wood.

Comments
A slightly oily gin that leads with wood spice and a splash of citrus. Good mixing potential.

8.4

Felicity Murray

Nose
Citrus peel and juniper balanced with warm spices, including coriander and cinnamon, and hints of lavender and thyme.

Palate
Rich, fresh and full bodied. The traditional botanicals shine, with juicy fruits at first, followed by a warm spiciness with a bittersweet edge.

Finish
Long, dry and lemony. Juniper lingers on liquorice sweetness.

Comments
A nicely balanced, traditional style gin that deserves to be drunk in a classic dry martini or with a naturally light tonic water. Simply garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Score

8.7
